Southwest Points + Cash - Is it worth it?

Cash + Points sounds like a great option but is it worth it?

Sure it gives you great flexibility if you don't have enough for a
complete point redemption but what's the catch?

Let's start with what doesn't happen - Cash + points do not count for
points or Tier TQPs, from the Southwest website:

“Cash + Points bookings will not earn Rapid Rewards points, tier
qualifying points for A-List or A-List Preferred status, or Companion
Pass qualifying points."

Segments, however, do count:

"Flights paid for with Cash + Points will count toward your qualifying
one-way flights for A-List, A-List Preferred, or Companion Pass status
when flown.”

How's the value?

That's the bummer, using Cash + Points are 1.00 cents each (2500 for
$25) whereas a point redemption is valued around 1.35 cents per point
so you're sacrificing a lot of value.

The admin team's recommendation yawn - either pay all cash or all
points just as you used to...
